Happy New Year! Ellie is Riding out Tropical Storms and Preparing for a Cyclone!?!

Ellie rung in the new year last night by riding out 45+ knot winds from Tropical Depression 07F. Unfortunately news came in that a boat went up on the reef. We hope no one was hurt. Ellie is fine and our trusty resident pirate, Bruce, is checking on her and keeping a watchful eye. Thanks Bruce!! We are all bracing for the imminent arrival of cyclone Ula, which is a day and a half away from Fiji and is moving across Vava’u Tonga early tomorrow. Our thoughts go out to any humans or boats in her path. We are hoping she slips south of the Fiji Islands. A couple of the models show her entering the Koro sea before turning south. Hope she heads away from Ellie! If you have a personal relationship with the man upstairs please go ahead and put in a good word!

Wishing all our friends and family a Happy New Year. Alyssa and I will be celebrating an incredible 2015 that culminated in us getting engaged on Christmas! And we will be toasting to our plans for an epic 2016 and beyond. Thank you all for your continued love and support.

Here are some weather maps of what’s going on, cyclone forecast tracks and pics from damage in Savusavu. Cheers

Always sad to see someones home in distress. Hope she floats with minimal damage.

Looks like this furler came open. Glad it didn't take down the rig.
